Install Gssmo For Mac

Can I install GSSMO on my Mac machine? No, the G Suite Sync for Microsoft Outlook is not meant for macOS. Actually, Outlook for Mac has no support for Messaging Application Programming Interface which is mandatory for the working of GSSMO. Export the data from Outlook as a PST file and then import it using the import data when you install GSSMO option or use G Suite Migration for Microsoft Outlook. Can I use GSSMO with my Mac version of Outlook? Download and install the GSMMO tool by Google to migrate email, contact, and calendar data from Microsoft® Outlook® profiles and PST files to G Suite.

Google makes incredibly powerful and useful tools, but they also have their own bizarro world logic and inconsistent UI that can be hard to follow. Gmail's probably the best example of this–it's entirely different from other email systems, so it can be a love or hate affair, especially if you prefer the concept of traditional mail folders.

Sometimes Google does something that's just so Google that I have to laugh, and I found one of them. If you want to use G Suite with Outlook, they offer integration tools. Unfortunately, they're only for Windows (though current versions of Outlook Mac do offer some janky Gmail/Calendar/Contacts integration–I'd still stick with the Apple apps).

So, there's a tool for maintaining ongoing sync between G Suite and Outlook, and it's called G Suite Sync for Microsoft Outlook–or, as Google calls it. GSSMO. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, but ok.

Download and Install the GSMMO Tool The G Suite Migration for Microsoft Outlook (GSMMO) tool allows you to import email, contacts, and calendar items directly from an existing Outlook profile or a standalone PST file. Navigate to the GSMMO page. Click Download GSSMO under ' DOWNLOAD.EXE FILE (RECOMMENDED FOR USERS) '. Emailing is probably the activity we do the most on our computers. Even if you don't work on a computer during the day, you probably sit down in front of it to check your inbox at the end of the day.

Then there's another tool for one-time migration from Outlook to G Suite, and that's called– wait for it–G Suite Migration for Microsoft Outlook. Which is…GSMMO.

Two different tools that do related but critically different things. And they're called GSSMO and GSMMO. It took me 15 minutes on their support pages going back and forth thinking they were the same thing before I finally figured it out.

Microsoft today announced that it's adding support for syncing Google Calendar and Google Contacts in Outlook 2016 for Mac. The highly requested feature will become available to people who take the fast preview builds through the Office Insider program over the next few weeks. It will become available to all Office 365 subscribers later this year.

'The experience will be very similar to what you are familiar with in Outlook today, with support for all the core actions — such as add, delete, edit time and location. All changes will update back and forth with Gmail or Outlook for iOS and Android, so everything is in sync across all your devices,' the Outlook team said in a blog post.

This will be in addition to Outlook's existing support for Gmail — but Microsoft is now enhancing what's possible with email from Gmail in Outlook for Mac.

'With these updates, you will also be able to take advantage of several of Outlook's advanced features with your Gmail account, including Focused Inbox and richer experiences for travel reservations and package deliveries,' the Outlook team said. Focused Inbox is a feature Microsoft picked up through its 2014 Acompli acquisition — Microsoft has since put it in more places, including most recently the standard-issue Mail app for Windows 10. Richer functionality for certain kinds of emails has also become available on more Microsoft properties.
